Take a breath right now
This is the first tool in Lento. Breathe in as the circle opens, and out as it closes: in for four, out for six. Three rounds is a good place to start.
It is also in the free plan, for the car, the couch, or the bathroom before a date.
Sound familiar?
- Part of you watches from the corner, scoring the evening.
- You worry about your erection before anything has started, and the worry makes it harder.
- You rush, or step back, because slow feels risky.
It shows up whatever your orientation, with someone new or with someone you have loved for years.
That has a familiar name: performance anxiety. It is a loop, not a flaw in you. Your mind reads intimacy as a test, your body gets the memo, and the thing you feared gets easier to find. Both halves of the loop, attention and nervous system, respond to practice. Lento is that practice, in small daily doses.
Meet Trevor
I am Trevor James, a touch and intimacy therapist and coach in Hollywood, Los Angeles. For eight years I have worked with men on touch, intimacy, and sex, and the sentence I hear most is some version of “my mind will not leave me alone.”
I created Lento because I have struggled with these same problems myself, and I wanted to share what could help other men. It is for men of any orientation, straight, gay or bi.
Lento is the practice I wish more people had between sessions: small, private, and kind. Go at your own pace and take what is useful. If you would like to talk to a person, I am glad to hear from you.

What a day in Lento looks like
No videos to sit through and no course to binge. Every day is one short page in your browser, in three parts.
- Read (a minute or two).A plain-spoken explanation of what is going on in your head and body, with no jargon and no shame.
- Practice (2 to 12 minutes). One exercise you can do on the couch, in the car, or lying down, with a guided audio each week.
- Reflect and check in.One question to think about, then rate how you feel and add a note if you like. It is saved on your phone, so you can see your own progress over the weeks.
Each day opens the next one, so the pace stays gentle and nothing piles up.
What your weeks look like
Each season is four weeks of about ten minutes a day. The next one opens when you finish the one before.
Slow Down open now
Learn to stop performing and start being there, using your breath, your pelvic floor and your attention.
Week 1 · Name the Loop
See the loop
Meet the spectator in the balcony, learn the pelvic floor “drop” that most men were taught backward, and draw your own anxiety loop. Days 1 to 3 are free.
Week 2 · Breathe Down
Learn a short reset
Turn the breath into a remote control, find where tension hides, and build a short reset you can use in a hallway or a parked car.
Week 3 · Come Back to the Body
Soft, not weak
A body scan, the difference between clench and release, softness in daily life, and touch that asks nothing of you.
Week 4 · Trade Performance for Presence
Bring it to the evening
Rehearse calm, plan a low-stakes evening, make a plan for when things wobble, and find a few true sentences to say out loud.
Then Ground open when you finish Slow Down
Build a body that can both let go and hold steady.
Week 1 · Find Your Floor
Learn the map
Find your pelvic floor, feel it drop, rest and lift in three positions, and set a baseline to measure against.
Week 2 · Release and Soften
Let go on purpose
Release the hips, glutes and pelvic floor deliberately, including in the bathroom and under stress.
Week 3 · Build Quiet Strength
Strong and soft
Train steady holds and quick flicks, always with a full release after, on a weekly plan you can keep.
Week 4 · Move with Ease
Carry it with you
Bring a soft, steady floor into walking, posture, dancing and the evening itself.
More seasons follow, each one building on the last.
Tools you keep in your pocket
The Tonight routine
Four steps, three minutes: land, name it, soften, share. Rehearse it alone first, then bring it to the evening.
Words for the moment
Short scripts for telling a partner you are nervous, asking to slow down, or changing course kindly. For example:
“I am a little nervous, and I am glad to be here with you.”
“Let's slow down. Come here.”
Who it is for, and who it is not
Lento is for men of any orientation: straight, gay or bi, with a partner or without one.
It is for you if
- Your mind takes over in moments you want to be present.
- You want something private you can do alone, at your own pace.
- You are open to practicing a little each day.
It is not
- Therapy, or medical treatment.
- A quick fix or a performance hack.
- A substitute for a doctor, if something physical is worrying you.
Lento is educational. If difficulties persist, or started suddenly, please see a doctor. Day 28 covers how to tell.

Questions
Is this therapy?
No. Lento is an educational program. It does not diagnose or treat anything, and it does not replace a doctor or a therapist. If difficulties persist, we encourage you to see one.
Is it private and discreet?
Yes. We store your email address and your plan status. Your check-ins and notes stay on your own device. We never sell or share your data. Emails come from "Lento" with plain subject lines. The privacy page has the details.
How soon will I notice a difference?
It varies from person to person. Lento is built around small daily practice, so the days in each season are there to let new habits settle. It is not a quick fix, and we do not promise outcomes.
Is Lento for gay and bi men as well as straight men?
Yes. Lento is for men of any orientation, with a partner or without one. The practices are about your breath, your body and your attention, and the words for a partner are written to suit any partner.
Do I need a partner?
No. Most of the program is something you do alone. Late in Slow Down you get tools for talking with a partner, and you can use them whenever the time is right.
How often will you email me?
Only for sign-in links, unless you choose to receive one gentle daily nudge. You can switch it off at any time with one tap.
Is it a subscription?
Yes, if you continue past the three free days. Monthly renews every month until you cancel, and yearly renews every year until you cancel. You can cancel any time in your Account, and we send a reminder before a yearly renewal. The first three days stay free either way.
How do the seasons work?
Lento is built in seasons of 28 days each. Slow Down is the first and is open now, and new seasons are added over time. Each later season opens after you finish the one before it, one new day opens each calendar day, and a season that is not ready yet says "coming soon" in the app.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep Slow Down and every season you finished. Later seasons lock. If you subscribe again, you continue where you stopped.
